Northern Consortium (NCUK) is an educational group comprising several leading universities in the UK. The group regulates the quality of education for international students and develops programmes to prepare international students for studying at a University level in the UK. DIFC is the exclusive delivery centre for NCUK courses in Ireland.

NCUK International Foundation Year: Guarantee

The minimum grades required in order to be eligible for the NCUK guarantee are based on results in subject modules plus EAP (English for Academic Purposes) or Key Skills.

  • Subject Module Grades: Students must normally achieve a minimum of 240 NCUK points in subject modules to progress to a university degree course.
  • EAP/EAPPU: All students must achieve a minimum of overall grade C with no less than D in each EAP skills component (Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking).  EAP students will also be given a grade for their “Independent Study Task” and need to achieve a grade D to pass the programme.

 

All placements are subject to satisfaction of the minimum entry requirements. Note that these are minimum requirements and offers may vary dependent upon students’ prior educational background and application.

 

NCUK IFY: Exclusions from the NCUK Guarantee
Medicine, Dentistry & Nursing

NCUK Graduate Diploma: Guarantee

Your progression opportunities are based on your Research Methods grade and your EAP grade.

  • Research Methods: In addition to EAP/Key Skills grade C, students must achieve at least a pass grade in their dissertation.
  • EAP: All students must achieve a minimum of overall grade C with no less than D in each EAP skills component (Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking). EAP students will also be given a grade for their “Independent Study Task” and need to achieve a Grade D to pass the programme.
